Variations of Counters

PresetCounters
Counters have a programmable set point, which when number of countreaches to, a relay is operated. This is can be used to alert the operator orautomate the production sequence by switching motor / conveyor on / off etc.
LengthCounters Or Multiplying counters Or Pre scalingCounters
Theseare used for measuring revolving / rotating objects such as winding applicationsto measure length of wire / length of paper / length of yarn etc. The scalingfactor is user programmable to get he length in required units directly.
BatchCounters
Inindustry many times a batch contains a certain number of objects. Batch counterswill automatically generate a relay output when a preset number of count hasreached and number of such batches are also counted and stored in countermemory.
Counter with totaliser / Ratemeter
Additional feature to batch counters to give total production done sofar. Also a feature to know the rate of production at any given instance oftime.
Production counters
Thesecounters are enhanced version of batch counters as they keep track of shift wisedata as well.
Sequential Counters
Therecan be multiple number of set points which are effective in a particular order.Relay output is generated after each preset value is reached.
UpDown counters
Incase the movement of an object is bidirectional or if there are rejection in thematerial produced, up / down bidirectional counters can be used. Quadaratureencoder compatible counters can be used to measure the angular movements orrevolving bidirectional movements.
Vending Machine Counter
Aspecial application for drink vending machines which are installed by IndianRailways to count the number of cups of a drink dispensed as well as to controlthe amount of drink dispensed. Ajinkya supplies Coca Cola and Pepsi Coladispensing counters which counts the number of cups dispense for multipleflavours and also controls the amount of drink is to be filled in the glass.
